Hey Guys,
I'm starting a Zebrawood dred. Do I have to do anything special before glueing Zebrawood? I thought that I read somewhere that it needs to be wiped with acetone before glueing. I'll be using hide and Titebond.

Bruce no problem gluing zebrawood with Titebond. No wiping necessary.

So far the sides bent great.

Hey Bruce;
I'm just finishing up my first Zebrawood guit. Bob is right on... This stuff glues very well with titebond.
I did have to get used to how brittle my set was. It tears very easily if you dig in with a chisel or the corner of a plane blade. Also, I urge caution (and a really sharp scraper) when you're scraping the backstrip and bindings. The summer wood scratches & gouges fairly easily.
I put the first coat of sanding sealer on yesterday & I couldn't believe how great this wood looks. It just shimmers! I'll be spraying the nitro later this week & can't wait to see how it's gonna look!
Did you get some cupping in your sides while bending? I think I spritzed a little too much water & ended up with some light ripples in the lower bout of both sides. They (mostly) sanded out, but I'll use less water next time.

Bruce please do send pic's. Zebra wood makes for a really gorgeous looking and great sounding guitar. I'm surprised it isn't used more.

Thanks for the info, Dan. I did get some cupping in the flat part of the lower bout below the waist. I always seem to get some rippling there no matter what kind of wood that I use.
